The Chart Retrieval Specialist II is responsible for retrieving medical records from various healthcare facilities for health plans and clients, ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining strong relationships with providers. This role also involves training and developing remote and field teams, monitoring productivity, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency in medical record retrieval.
Responsibilities
? Retrieve medical records from healthcare providers and facilities in a timely and accurate manner.

? Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to medical record retrieval.

? Develop and maintain strong relationships with healthcare providers and facilities.

? Review medical records for completeness and accuracy.

? Utilize electronic health record systems to retrieve and store medical records.

? Travel to various locations, including out of town as needed.
,
? Handle on-site and remote support functions.
,
? Administer Level 1 field support for scanning hardware and software issues.
,
? Monitor field activity, including daily communications and productivity.
,
? Provide guidance and training to Chart Retrieval Specialists across multiple regions.
,
? Assist in team building and ensuring teamwork.
,
? Conduct routine checks on field team's work for quality assurance.
,
? Maintain a detailed tracking system for medical record retrieval requests.
,
? Communicate with internal teams and external clients regarding retrieval status.
,
? Participate in process improvements for software/hardware functionality.
Requirements
? High School Diploma / GED
,
? Must be 18 years of age or older
,
? 1+ years in medical record retrieval or health information management experience
,
? 1+ years of experience working in electronic health record systems
,
? Experience reviewing medical records
,
? Ability to travel up to 95%
,
? Ability to work any of the 8-hour shift schedules during normal business hours.
Nice-to-haves
? Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to medical record retrieval

? Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
