Job Purpose



Working with IT Forestry group will: Establish and govern the Forestry Architecture standards and roadmap. Provide support to legacy and non-legacy Forestry applications. The role functions in IT, reporting to the IT Supply Chain COE manager.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:



  • Define the enterprise context, standards and patterns for business, information, application, and technology architecture

  • Research and select enabling technologies to address business demands proactively, and then incorporating it into Architecture Standards for legacy and new products

  • Manage Forestry systems innovation pipeline

  • Understand organization's business strategies and translate them into a definition of an information technology architecture strategy for Forestry systems

  • Define Forestry systems destination architectures and roadmaps based on business strategy, industry trends and innovation

  • Lead or Participate in prioritization and rationalization of conflicting business, information, and technology requirements on enterprise level

  • Lead or Partner in any IT Product selection and procurement process along with business

  • Provide support, training and direction to divisional, regional and site locations for legacy and non legacy applications

What do I need to be successful?



  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in integrated forestry systems, GIS, or computer/database administration in positions of increasing responsibility

  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position

  • Experience with Trimble Forestry solutions (LIMS, LRM, CFX), SAP, ESRI or other Forestry and Business ERP systems desired

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop strategic objectives and communications in alignment with the Corporate, Business, & IT strategy

  • Experience with implementing business systems, reporting tools and applying technology to solve business problems

  • Thorough knowledge of integrated business solutions, relational databases, and geographic system design and development

  • Knowledge of provincial forest practices, contract, and accounting needs

  • Demonstrated application development skills

  • Ability to work well with a variety of internal and external groups

  • Strong time management skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects simultaneously

Education



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

Work Environment



  • This is a remote-based position for a United States resident

  • Travel occasionally to all facilities

  • Flexible work schedule may be required to work with sites, contractors, or to implement enhancements when system usage is minimized
