Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
Salary: $4,000 annually
Classification: Part-time (Contracted)
Reports to: Head Men's Basketball Coach
Olympic College is recruiting to fill a part-time Assistant Men's Basketball Coach. This position reports to the Head Basketball Coach and the Athletic Director. his position is part-time and non-tenure and will begin immediately upon selection. The basketball season begins approximately September 1 and ends approximately March 30. Must be available to attend practices, games, and tournaments on weekday evenings and weekends.
Essential Functions
- Assisting the head coach in all phases of an intercollegiate basketball program;
- Recruiting within conference guidelines;
- Teaching advanced basketball skills;
- Assisting with the monitoring of individual's academic progress;
- Overseeing transportation of the team;
- Participate in fundraising activities;
- Encouraging and demonstrating good sportsmanship;
- Processing of appropriate institutional and conference paperwork;
- Performs other work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current First Aid/CPR certification or the ability to obtain one prior to employment
- Valid unrestricted Washington State Driver's License.
- Demonstrated experience as a basketball coach, with experience at the high school, club, or college level preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of intercollegiate basketball rules and regulations.
- Commitment to a philosophy promoting student success.
Follow campus regulations local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and ordinances;
Demonstrate success working with individuals and groups representing a wide range of diverse cultural, geographic, and socioeconomic backgrounds;
Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills;
Function as a team player;
Establish and maintain effective working relationships;
Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the Olympic College mission, diversity, and learning-centered climate;

Additional Information
Terms of Employment
This is an hourly position with a salary of $8,000 annually. They are not eligible for benefits upon hire.
Working Conditions
This position requires punctuality and regular attendance. This position is in a typical office environment but may require the employee to move across campus to other buildings. Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position. May be required to lift and carry equipment and supplies of up to 30 pounds.
Conditions of Employment
Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted.
