Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology has a great opportunity for individuals interested in joining our Facilities Operations team as our next Refuse and Recycle Technician and be a key member of our success.
As our Refuse and Recycle Technician, working a regular shift of 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, you will collect trash and recyclables from designated locations throughout Institute properties. You will separate materials into groups based on the material makeup of products and ensure the safe handling of hazardous or potentially dangerous materials including glass and metals. As our Refuse and Recycle Technician you will operate equipment necessary for recycling and trash collection and management, clean and maintain trash/recycling equipment and facility, and manage the replacement of the compactor/dumpster as needed. Other duties as assigned to meet the Institute's business needs.
Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma or GED equivalent and one year of relevant professional work experience. Successful completion of pre-employment screenings that include a background check, motor vehicle report, and physical ability assessment are required of the selected finalist(s). In addition to the required qualifications, preferred candidates will have experience operating large trash/recycling equipment or driving large collection vehicles.
