About the team

Each local government independently designs, administers, and collects what, in aggregate, is the largest single source of revenue for American local governments ? property taxes. The result is a patchwork of more than 20,000 unique property tax regimes ? a regulatory and compliance nightmare for institutional real estate operators and enterprises with large real estate footprints.

The Tax Proper team builds products that help institutional and enterprise customers manage their property taxes. As a member of the team, you?ll help build our property tax data product and property tax payments product.

What you'll do

As a Transaction Coordinator, you?ll collect and report property tax bill data, facilitate property tax payments, and help customers maintain their property tax accruals and budgeting in our software platform.

You are expected to:
? Conduct in-depth research to identify, analyze, and confirm complex property tax information, ensuring compliance with local, state, and national regulations
? Leverage advanced tools, online databases, public records, and proprietary systems to gather and validate property tax data
? Input, audit and validate property tax details into software systems, prioritizing data accuracy and integrity to minimize errors
? Independently investigate, resolve, and manage escalated property tax inquiries from cross-functional teams and customers, providing actionable solutions and insights
? Execute proactive strategies to retrieve and verify missing or ambiguous tax data, employing problem-solving and analytical skills
? Collaborate with high-performing teams to develop and implement innovative processes, tools, and strategies that enhance the overall customer experience
? Proactively identify opportunities to expand and refine responsibilities as the role evolves, driving personal and professional growth

What we're looking for
? 2-3 years of tax, accounting, operations, transaction coordination, or finance experience
? Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
? Thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment and are excited to create new things
? Expertise in using Excel, including proficiency in advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data visualization.

Bonus points if you have:
? Experience with accruals, month-end journal entries, and other basic accounting concepts.

? Experience interacting with eternal client accounts
? Experience with SQL and/or Data Analysis tools
