The Complex Claims Manager at Selective Insurance is responsible for overseeing the Specialty Complex Claims unit, ensuring compliance with company policies and delivering superior customer service. Responsibilities
? Proactively manage the Specialty Complex Claims unit in accordance with company claims policies and procedures.

? Drive optimum claims outcomes while supporting operational goals and delivering superior customer service.

? Plan, control, and coordinate claims activity and workflow to maintain professional standards and meet deadlines.

? Ensure timely settlement of claims and maintain acceptable closing ratios for the department.

? Prepare and monitor the operating budget for the unit/department.

? Recommend and implement claims procedural changes in accordance with company guidelines.

? Maintain override capability and authorize settlements up to designated authority limits.

? Oversee combined loss ratio and productivity numbers to ensure compliance with company standards.

? Control allocated claims expenses and provide performance management for personnel.

? Conduct claims reviews and settlement conferences, mediating complaints and disputes.
Requirements
? College degree required; JD preferred.

? 10+ years of claims experience.

? 5+ years of claims supervisory experience.

? Ability to lead a team of complex claims specialists with expertise in complex coverage and high exposure claims.

? Excellent people and management skills for performance management.

? Ability to analyze reports and conduct trend analysis to identify issues.

? Experience in complex coverage analysis and large loss evaluations.

? Superior communication, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.

? Excellent presentation skills.
