Assistant Underwriter/Towerstone Select

About the position

The Assistant Underwriter at Towerstone Select plays a crucial role in supporting the underwriting process by preparing information for marketing new and renewal business, interfacing with clients and carriers, and maintaining proactive communication. Responsibilities
? Supports and demonstrates IMA's core values

? Prepares information needed to market new and renewal business
,
? Identifies and assesses business that may fit into carrier programs
,
? Independently interfaces with clients and carriers to solve problems and answer questions
,
? Develops and maintains proactive communication with clients
,
? Reviews and analyzes quotes, and negotiates the terms of the transaction
,
? Prepares draft proposals, submissions, and quotes
,
? Monitors market changes and performs marketing activities as needed by Broker
,
? Maintains knowledge of insurance coverages, carriers, and their business practices
,
? Gathers underwriting information from retail agents
,
? Assists with invoice management
,
? Provides exceptional customer service to incoming calls
,
? Executes other duties as assigned

Requirements
? 2+ years of insurance industry experience
,
? Commercial underwriting experience preferred
,
? Advanced computer skills, to include typing, MS Office, and Excel software
,
? Excellent verbal and written communications skills, to include presentation skills
,
? Strong attention to detail
,
? Strong time management and organizational skills
,
? Applicable state P&C license required
,
? Excess and Surplus license a plus
,
? Strong sales and marketing skills
,
? Solid business acumen
,
? Interest in continued education and professional development
,
? Excellent interpersonal skills, both internally and externally
