International Bank Examiner (Multi-Level)
Posted 2025-03-14About the position
As an International Bank Examiner at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, you will play a crucial role in the supervision of U.S. offices of foreign banking organizations, as well as domestic and foreign-owned bank holding companies and non-bank subsidiaries. Your primary responsibility will be to proactively identify risks through both on-site and off-site examination and monitoring activities. This ensures that these institutions operate in a safe and sound manner while complying with applicable laws and regulations. Your work will have a significant impact on the economy of the Southeast, the United States, and the global financial system. In this position, you will engage with financial institution management to discuss your findings and may develop and maintain in-depth expertise in specialty areas such as capital markets, operations risk, and information technology. The role requires a balanced and well-reasoned judgment in decision-making, especially when communicating with senior management and directors of supervised institutions, even under potentially adversarial circumstances. You will also be responsible for producing comprehensive reports of your findings, conducting risk assessments, and performing ongoing surveillance for a portfolio of institutions. Additionally, you will provide guidance, training, and feedback to less experienced examiners and may serve as an instructor at formal schools and through on-the-job training. The position may also involve serving in the Examiner in Charge (EIC) role, which includes planning, coordinating, and monitoring supervisory activities. Continuous professional development is encouraged, and you will maintain knowledge of current regulations and industry issues through communications and industry literature. This position is available at multiple levels, including Associate Examiner, Examiner, and Senior Examiner, depending on your years of relevant experience. The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta promotes a dynamic hybrid workplace environment, requiring at least two days a week in the office, allowing for a balance between professional responsibilities and personal life.
