Overview

A Washington, D.C. based government contracting firm is seeking an internal Human Resource and Payroll Specialist to run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including on-boarding / off-boarding, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices as well as process payroll and maintain employee time records.

In Short
? Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with training and assessments.
? Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
? Administers human resource programs including compensation, benefits, and leave.
? Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants and employees.
? Maintains compliance with employment laws and regulations.
? Processes payroll information and ensures proper deductions.
? Records and processes payroll tax deposits.
? Maintains knowledge of HR trends and best practices.
? Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
? Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
? Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
? Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
? Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
? Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
? Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
? Ability to learn HRIS and payroll software quickly.
