Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a POTENTIAL opportunity for a civilian LPN/LVN at the 20th Medical Group in suport of Shaw Air Force Base near Sumter, SC.

Job Requirements: ? Degree/Education: Graduate of a school of practical or vocational nursing approved by a state agency or accredited by the ACEN ? Experience: A minimum of 12 months of experience in an outpatient acute care (hospital based) or ambulatory care setting within the last 24 months.

Active, unrestricted nursing license in any state * BLS from the American Heart Association

Duties:
? The HCW shall perform the additional duties in support of the MSME
? Initiate/order clinical preventive services based on the patient?s condition and healthcare needs for care, to include requesting consultation or referrals with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources, as indicated.
? Enter patient?s demographic data, medical history, medical readiness status, and diagnosis into the DHA Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) electronic tracking system and the electronic military medical record upon patient check-in, admissions, discharges, transfers, or release from MTF.
? Promote preventive and healthcare maintenance, to include annual physicals/health assessments, positive health behaviors, and self-care through education and counseling of patients and/or family members.
? Check patient?s vital signs, to include temperature, respiration, pulse, weight, and blood pressure. Escort patients to the appropriate examination room after patient check-ins, admission, and transfers, as directed.
? Ensure that patient?s medical charts are promptly and accurately updated, as required.
? Augments the Government MSME by performing clinical aspects of assessments and examinations of patients.
? Observes and record patient?s conditions and reactions to medications and treatments.
? In coordination with the Government MSME, access examinations for processing medical clearance reviews for patients retraining, permanent change of station (PCS) for active-duty military personnel, special duties, medical profiles, and security clearances. Provides recommendations only to the Government MSME. The Government MSME is responsible for making final determinations for all medical clearance reviews.
? Assist the Government MSME with coordinating patients for the Separations History Physical Exam (SHPE) program. In addition, assist the Government MSME with gathering and assessing patient injuries or medical diagnosis to be submitted to the Wing?s Deployment Availability Working Group (DAWG) for accessing if the patient?s case needs to be elevated to the Initial Review in Lieu of (IRILO) for further review by the Medical Standards Branch.T he Medical Standards Branch is responsible for making final determinations on military personnel being fit for duty.
? Assist the Government MSME with conducting or verifying physical examinations or medical evaluations of patients with Duty Limiting Conditions, Fitness Assessment Exemptions (FAEs), or physical profiles for durations greater than 180 days. The Government MSME is responsible for making final determinations for all medical clearance reviews.
? Conduct clinical physical examinations or medical screenings of military officers recommended for senior command positions Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) for the Command Screening Board?s evaluation of the officer?s mobility restrictions which limits or restricts participation in deployment or mobility actions.
