Job Summary and Qualifications

As an LPN on our Progressive Neurovascular Care Unit (PNCU) you will support our 18-bed remote telemetry unit with a typical 1:5 patient ratio. Our unit provides high quality care to those who have a wide variety of neurological disorders ranging from strokes, traumatic brain injuries, and spinal injuries. While providing clinical and administrative support on the unit, you will work closely with the clinical team to create and implement a care plan that meets each patient?s needs.
? Monitoring patient?s condition and assessing their needs to provide the best possible care and advice.
? You will assess, monitor, record, report, and follow through on symptoms or changes in patients? conditions.
? You will consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and modify the plan of care, as indicated by the patient?s responses and conditions.
? Assist neurological physicians with bedside procedures.
? Provide pre-operative and post-operative care.
? You will provide individualized education for the patient, family, and/or caregiver throughout the continuum of care.

REQUIREMENTS
? Basic Life Support (BLS)
? NIHSS certified- preferred, not required
? Licensed Practical / Vocational Nurse (LPN / LVN)
? Vocational School Graduate
