The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) at Mott Hospital will provide expert clinical leadership within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This role involves collaborating with nursing staff to enhance patient care through evidence-based practices, education, and mentorship. The CNS will be responsible for coordinating clinical activities, guiding nursing practice, and contributing to the advancement of nursing at various levels, including local and national. The position emphasizes direct patient care, nursing practice improvement, and organizational leadership.
Responsibilities
? Serve as a reliable source of information on evidence supporting safe nursing practices.

? Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to integrate nursing perspectives into comprehensive care plans.

? Conduct comprehensive wellness and illness assessments using evidence-based techniques.

? Initiate and plan care conferences for individual patients or populations.

? Assist the team in establishing goals and measures for nursing care progress.

? Design and evaluate educational programs for patients, families, and groups.

? Collaborate to resolve issues related to patient care and resources.

? Lead clinical practice and quality improvement initiatives for the unit.

Requirements
? Completion of an accredited graduate-level Clinical Nurse Specialist Program.

? Master's degree in nursing with a clinical focus.

? Certification as ACCNS-Neonatal and current RN licensure in Michigan.

? Minimum of two years of RN experience in the NICU.
