About the position

The Career Cyber Risk Management Engineer - Vulnerability Management at Delta Dental of California is responsible for maintaining a comprehensive view of IT assets and emerging vulnerabilities. This role involves managing vulnerability scans, logging, and tracking discovered vulnerabilities in alignment with the vulnerability lifecycle. The engineer will triage remediation tasks and assign them to system owners, ensuring that vulnerabilities are addressed in a timely manner. Continuous tracking and reporting of the status of vulnerability team operational and development efforts is a key aspect of this position. The engineer will also develop reports, metrics, and dashboards for various stakeholders, including system owners, managers, directors, and executives. Effective communication is crucial, as the engineer will interact with co-workers, management, internal and external customers, and partners, conveying security solution features and options to both technical and non-technical audiences. In addition to these responsibilities, the engineer will maintain communication with management regarding developments within their assigned responsibilities and may perform special projects as required or requested. Building working relationships and offering support to other contributors in the information technology organization is also an essential part of the role. The position allows for telecommuting from anywhere in the US, providing flexibility in the work environment.

Responsibilities

Requirements
? Bachelor's degree or foreign degree equivalent in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, or related field.

? Five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related role, or a master's degree with three (3) years of experience.
,
? Experience with vulnerability management processes and lifecycle.
,
? Knowledge of information security or vulnerability management technology solutions.
,
? Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java).
,
? Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences effectively.
,
? Understanding of domains where security vulnerabilities may exist (e.g., operating systems, wireless, telecommunications, networks).
,
? Ability to conduct root cause analysis against vulnerabilities and determine feasible technical solutions.
