Frontier Airlines is the proud recipient of the Federal Aviation Administration's 2018 Diamond Award for maintenance excellence and was recently named the industry's most fuel-efficient airline by The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) as a result of superior technology and operational efficiencies.<br><br><strong>What Will You Be Doing?</strong><br><br>The Engineer, Powerplant/APU is the primary engineering department contact for ATA chapters 49, and 70-80 and issues related to engine and APU.<br><br><strong>Essential Functions</strong><br><br><ul><li>Primary engineering department contact for ATA chapters 70 through 80</li><li>Monitor fleet powerplant operation and incorporates solutions to maintain fleet health levels.</li><li>Build and maintain powerplant shop visit and overhaul schedules.</li><li>Assist materials department with commercial issues related to powerplants.</li><li>Provide technical support for Line and Heavy Maintenance to include minor repair authorizations, parts and materials substitutions, repairs and reports.</li><li>Conduct research and data collection to aid in the development of engineering documents.</li><li>Review Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins for applicability.</li><li>Develop technical services data to accomplish modifications in response to ADs, Service Bulletins, SILs, etc.</li><li>Respond to requests for technical assistance to obtain or develop approved engineering data when that data is not in the AMM, SRM, or other FAA, approved documents.</li><li>Interact with applicable departments to define, maintain and optimize the CAMP Analysis and determine disposition all reliability issues and improvements.</li><li>Minimize costs and aircraft out-of-service time relative to area of responsibility.</li><li>Ensure that specifications exist for configuration control to include engineering documents for new aircraft delivery configuration and standardization.</li></ul><br><br><strong>Qualifications</strong><br><br><ul><li>FAA mechanic certificate with both airframe and powerplant ratings preferred; will consider Engineering Degree in lieu of mechanic certificate</li><li>Minimum1 year of experience in a 121 airline environment, Technical Services/Engineering Department or comparable maintenance experience gained elsewhere</li></ul><br><br><strong>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</strong><br><br><ul><li>Be familiar with and have general understanding of Time Controlled Parts, Reliability Programs, FARs, Manufacturers Documentation to include but not limited to Maintenance Manuals, IPCs, Trouble Shooting Manuals, Wiring Diagrams, Aircraft Drawings and CMMs, SBs, STCs, ADs and PMA parts</li><li>Excellent communication skills</li><li>Moderate computer and technical writing skills</li><li>Ability to work extended hours and weekends on occasion as required by management for project completion</li></ul><br><br><strong>Equipment Operated</strong><br><br>Standard office equipment, including PC, copier, fax machine, printer<br><br><strong>Work Environment</strong><br><br>Typical office environment, adequately heated and cooled<br><br><strong>Physical Effort</strong><br><br>Generally, not required. <br><br><strong>Work Environment / Remote Work Options</strong><br><br><ul><li>This role can be based at our headquarters in Denver, CO or anywhere in the United States via a remote work arrangement (periodic travel to Denver from a Frontier-serviced city required)</li><li>If remote, you must be able to follow our remote work policies, including ability and comfort level working from home with access to a high-speed internet connection</li><li>If headquarters-based, typical office environment, adequately heated and cooled</li></ul><br><br><strong>Supervision Received</strong><br><br>General Direction: The incumbent normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work and receives general instructions on new assignments.<br><br><strong>Positions Supervised</strong><br><br><ul><li>None </li></ul><br><br><strong>Salary Range: $78,000 - $110,000</strong><br><br><strong>Workplace Policies</strong><br><br>At Frontier Airlines, we wholeheartedly support and have a strong commitment to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action.
