Posted 2025-03-14<strong><br><strong><br><strong><br><strong><br>Job Description Summary</strong></strong></strong> </strong>The SBLO will work with suppliers and internal customers to provide sourced goods and services at the best quality and total cost in support of the activities for the planned research center for GE Vernova. This individual will demonstrate complete knowledge of FAR and DFARS requirements as they relate to GE Vernova Subcontracts/Purchase Orders and will maintain consistent knowledge of regulation updates, including Federal Contracting for Small Business requirements. Experience with assistance agreements and grants is a plus.<br>GE Vernova?s Advanced Research business is the central innovation engine for GE?s portfolio of energy businesses, which will be unified under one banner called GE Vernova. Collectively, they are driving major research programs and initiatives to decarbonize power, accelerate renewables, and promote electrification and the creation of a 21st century grid fit to power a zero-carbon energy future.<strong><br> <strong><br>Job Description</strong> <br></strong><strong><br>Roles And Responsibilities<br></strong>Perform Sourcing Buyer/SBLO duties as required to include those outlined below:<br><ul><li> Develop a working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations 19.704 <li> Collect and validate small business spend and upload ISR?s and SSR?s in accordance with the Small Business filing requirements. </li><li> Develop and disseminate training materials and information to bring internal awareness to government small business subcontracting requirements and procedures, and internal sourcing procedures. </li><li> Maintains Smartsheet database of diverse suppliers and conducts frequent audits to ensure accurate diversity classification records. </li><li> Ensure sourcing procedures are followed from identifying supplier base, executing request for quotes, terms negotiations, purchase order creation and management, and accounts payable resolution. </li><li> Negotiating and finalizing contracts with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions, pricing, and delivery schedules. </li><li> Issue purchase orders to outside suppliers as needed. </li><li> Proactive supplier management (supplier adds, modifications, etc.) as required. </li><li> Collaborate with other GE Vernova sites and Global Commodity Leaders as needed to understand corporate commitments, customer needs, and to achieve best results for GE Vernova. </li><li> Coordinate with Finance for quarter/year end closing activities. </li><li> All other projects, duties as assigned. <br></li></ul><strong><br>Required Qualifications<br></strong><ul><li> Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 years of applicable sourcing/procurement experience </li><li>Ability to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, Ny is Highly Preferred, but a remote office arrangement may be considered for exceptional applicants</li><li> US Citizenship is required due to Federal Contract provisions </li><li> Must be 18 years or older. </li><li> You must submit your application for employment on the careers page at www.gecareers.com to be considered. <br></li></ul><strong><br>Desired Characteristics<br></strong><ul><li> Experience with Federal procurement compliance and small business preferred. </li><li> Demonstrated success in working with cross-functional teams. </li><li> Previous experience in leading teams. </li><li> Must be detail-oriented and data-driven. </li><li> Demonstrated strong project management skills. </li><li> Excellent interpersonal communication and facilitation skills with ability to influence others. </li><li> Strong quantitative and analytical skills. </li><li> Strong PC, database management skills; experience with Oracle Purchasing and Smartsheets is a plus. </li><li> Sourcing experience in both strategic and procurement functions and well as indirect sourcing. <br></li></ul>The salary range for this position is $83,000 - $138,000. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate?s experience, their education, and the work location.
