The Healthcare Receptionist/Front Desk Associate plays a crucial role in the smooth operation of the medical office by serving as the first point of contact for patients and visitors. This position involves answering telephone calls, screening and directing them appropriately, and attending to visitors with professionalism and courtesy. The receptionist will handle inquiries both over the phone and face-to-face, ensuring that all patients feel welcomed and informed. In addition to managing calls and visitors, the receptionist is responsible for registering patients and retrieving medical records as necessary for hospital follow-ups. This includes confirming patient appointments, checking patients in and out, and managing task messages between staff and physicians. The role also requires scheduling all patient appointments, including hospital and office follow-ups, and collecting co-payments while processing all payments through the Passport system. The receptionist will also manage incoming and outgoing mail, check and clear incoming faxes, and verify insurance eligibility as needed. Completing physician orders and scheduling tests and diagnostic studies ordered by physicians is also part of the job. The receptionist must obtain necessary authorizations and link them to visits, tests, or procedures, as well as verify any changes to patient demographics and update insurance information at each visit.
Responsibilities

Requirements
? Minimum of one (1) year customer service experience in a medical office environment.

? Administrative experience in a medical office environment is required.
,
? EPIC/EHR experience is preferred.

? High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Nice-to-haves
? Experience with medical terminology for at least one year is preferred.
